2010 Endorsements Guide

6/4/10

Dear SC Club for Growth Members and Friends,

At the request of our members, we have pulled together the following “voter guide” of candidates we have endorsed in the 2010 election cycle.  Our endorsement decisions are based on our research into candidates’ records as well as personal interviews with them and their opponents. You are welcomed to visit our website to read more about our rationale for supporting these candidates but the summary is that we look to endorse common-sense, fiscal conservatives running in key races to reform government.

All of these candidates have good chances of winning – which would do incredible things for the reform movement in our state.  Of course, that is exactly why the political class is fighting so hard against them.  If their ludicrous personal attacks anger you, we ask that you do your part by not only voting for these candidates but also forwarding these endorsements to a wide group of your friends, family members, and co-workers with a request that they do the same between now and next Tuesday, June 8.

Together – with your help – we can take back our state government.

Sincerely,

Chad Walldorf
Chairman, SC Club for Growth PAC

Endorsed Statewide Candidates

Governor – Nikki Haley has consistently been the top-ranked legislator on our scorecards.  The recent crazy personal attacks on her show how scared the good ole boys in Columbia are – which should demonstrate how badly we need her in office.

Treasurer – Curtis Loftis is a very successful businessman/1st time candidate.  This seat is very important as we need a strong, common-sense reformer to replace the incumbent as the swing vote on the very important Budget and Control Board.

Comptroller General – Richard Eckstrom is the incumbent who has worked tirelessly to improve transparency and control outrageous spending on the Budget and Control Board.

Supt. of Education – Although we didn’t make a formal endorsement, we came out of our interviews very impressed with both Mick Zais and Brent Nelsen and believe either would make an excellent Superintendent.

US Congress

District 1 – Tim Scott has fought for the principles of individual liberty and limited government in South Carolina which earned him an “A” from the SC Club for Growth and the endorsement of the national Club for Growth.

District 3 – Jeff Duncan also has an outstanding “A” record with the SC Club for Growth and deserved the endorsement that he received from the national Club for Growth.
